Tornados Travel to Kentucky to Face the Saints
North American Football League action taking place this Saturday in Louisville
For release- July 22, 2010
LOUISVILLE, Ky.- The Indianapolis Tornados will face the Louisville Saints on July 24 at Evangel High School in Louisville. Kick-off starts at 7:30 p.m. This weekend will mark the second time the Tornados face the Saints during an NAFL season. In last year’s matchup, the Tornados outgunned the Saints in a 41-18 victory. For the 2010 season, the Tornados organization hopes to repeat its success. However, team president Evan Triggs knows that the Saints will not go down without leaving everything they have on the gridiron.
“Our goal is to get a little better every week. Our approach to this game is no different than any other game. When we play Tornados football, execute, and win the turnover battle, we give ourselves a chance to win,” Triggs said. “Louisville is a very skilled opponent. We defeated them last year, even though we were out-gained in total offense. They've got explosive talent on both sides of the ball and should be a good test for our team, especially on the road.”
The Tornados hope to pull out a road victory this weekend, giving them some momentum leading into their next home game on July 31. The Tornados are currently undefeated (1-0) on their home field at Park Tudor School, located on College Avenue. Kick-off for that matchup, against another NAFL opponent, is at 7 p.m.
The Indianapolis Tornados are a minor league football team with a rich history and an intense commitment to the community. The Tornados won the North American Football League championship in 2008, the largest minor league football organization in the country. Players from top colleges joined the Tornados for a shot at professional aspirations. For more information about the team and organization log on to www.indianapolistornados.com. The next home game of the season is July 31 at Park Tudor. Gates open at 5:30 p.m. and Kick-off is at 7:00 p.m.
